The Walter Distributor Portal began as a single location for Walter’s distributor network to access news, price lists and marketing materials. Today, it is used as a whole-company management tool where all news, pricing and other downloads are controlled by a hierarchy of auth levels and permissions for use by distributors, sales reps, regional managers, logistics and lead management. Walter staff is able to create marketing memos and distribute them via email and review read statistics. Most important to the Portal are the Quotes and Contracts applications. Beginning as simple downloadable spreadsheets, Quotes and Contracts have evolved into a sophisticated online submittal and approval process where sales reps submit pricing requests, formulas are calculated and management can accept, decline or counter the request.
